Join longtime manager of Umphrey’s McGee, Vince Iwinski, for the Woodlands Charity Fishing Tournament. Entry fee is $30, which includes a Woodlands Festival goodie bag with merchandise, fishing swag, and more! All proceeds will be donated to the American Red Cross. Participants 21 and over will enjoy complimentary refreshments Each participant should bring his or her own fishing rod, and choice of artificial bait. Tournament preparation begins at 2pm on Saturday, with the actual tournament starting 15-20 minutes after the hour, and will last 60 minutes. The tournament will take place on the banks of Palmetto Lake, near the camping area. There will be signage indicating the location. Each participant will have an hour to catch the biggest Bass, measured by weight by a tournament official. Each participant will receive a festival goodie bag, and three winners will be awarded a prize consisting of cash, tickets to upcoming Umphrey’s McGee shows, and other surprises. A limited amount of tournament entries will be allowed (30 max) so don’t wait to purchase yours, and get in on the action!
The rules are simple. Artificial bait only, no live bait allowed. The Woodlands Nature Reserve appreciates your help in all conservation efforts. This is a strict catch & release tournament. We will have tournament officials on hand to help you weigh, photograph, and release your fish in a timely manner so that the fish can live to swim another day. If you end up losing any tackle, please alert a tournament official so we can safely remove.
